Hurray for Photoshop!

(2006) Car Photo Manipulations:: Here are a few of my older car photo manipulations.

This was created for a contest to redesign the Dodge Charger Superbee Concept which in my option is ugly as hell. I removed the rear doors and made it relate to the older Superbee model by extending the rear decal across he rear panel. Also the rims, grill, ground effects, paint.. ect were changed.

While driving around back home in La Crosse, WI I came across this E36 BMW M3 behind a car dealership so I stopped by and took a few pictures. I wasn’t satisfied with any of the pictures I took, however I liked the angle of one of them so I decided to photoshop it into a composition I liked.

Here is a Mustang I took a photo of while driving by it. I felt the new Mustang looked a tad bit boring so I photoshoped some extras onit aswell as a new paint color. I think I was inspirped to modify it due to watching Chip Foose's Overhailin at that time. I added an side skirts off of a Lotus Esprit. ZR1 rims of a Corvette and a NSX rear bumper.

Faces

(2006) Faces:: This was a joint project series of photos I took for a project dealing with the theme of faces. Pete Iverson and I wondered around a junk yard taking photos of the vehicles as though they were humans. I feel the emotions of the cars as well as their personalities are visible even in their dismantled form. I enjoyed in the junk yard finding vehicles people had personalized themselves from paint to other forms of decoration.

Nick's 2005 Infiniti G35

(2006) Nick's Infinity G35:: My friend from high school Nick just had gotten his G35 so I wanted to see it so we decided to go to a movie to meet up so I could check it out. After the movie got out Nick and I went on a spirited joyride around the city. I randomly had my camera and a tripod in my car so I took a few shots of it in the crap lighting.

Camaro Superfest 2007: Meet Up

(2007) Camaro Superfest- Meetup:: After the show the members of ProjectCamaro.com all met up and went to eat some food at Chilis which has become a tradition for the years now. We drove fast this random broken down area with no cars and thought it may be a good location to take some quick photos. It was quite funny though one of the member’s husband took out his d gun showing it off to the owner of the site in that shitty neighborhood at night while cars drove past. I of course went over to my car and tried not to look as conspicuous as the others standing around waving the gun around.

The photos still turned out pretty crappy, however they turned out much better than 2006’s photos taken in a park ha.

Camaro Superfest 2007: Show Snapshots

(2007) Camaro Superfest- Show Snapshots:: Ah yes another year of Camaro Superfest. Thisyear I actully was able to bring my own car which made it more fun and sortive suck at the same time. We met up with other members of ProjectCamaro.com and set forth to Michigan. It was a really fun three days of fastcars, and sitting around talking about nothing and getting to know some of the members on the forum in person.

Most photos were just snapshots I took to look back on later. Hopefully I can go this summer again and possibly get some acctual photoshoots with some of the members or other people in the area.

Porkys Spring 2006

(2006) Porkys 2006:: Spring 2006 is when I set off to document the car scene at Porkys Restaurant on University Avenue St Paul, Minnesota. I had been coming here for years with friends on weekends to watch the spectacle which is fast cars, interesting people, and standing around bullshitting with people. For this project I wanted to focus on the people as well as the cars. In the photos I tried to capture the feel of the place though the lighting using its retro feel for much of the photographs.
